The Sampler series of artworks feature a hand sculpted clay heart that has been painted and finished using a variety of mixed media techniques. Each heart is adorned with metal stampings that are hand painted and enameled, and assorted miniature beads and other found elements. The final piece is glazed with a special resin that gives it an all a glass-like finished.
Each finished heart is mounted on simple 6" x 6" wooden frame painted in a soft neutral cream in a soft chalk finish. The finishing touches in the frame include vintage book or ledger paper, well loved tattered quilt pieces (some have been lovingly "arted up" with stamps), vintage ribbons, lace or trim, and of course vintage bits.
Each frame is numbered on the back, stamped with my logo, and finished off with a hanger for display.
Combined, these elements create a truly unique art piece, no two will ever be exactly the same.
